From school supplies to new outfits (which I skipped this year due to Virginia’s weather), it’s easy to forget the small gestures that can make a big difference. This year, I wanted to make my kids’ first day special—not just for them, but for their teachers as well. After all, teachers do so much to help our little ones grow and thrive!

So, I came up with a fun and thoughtful back-to-school gift idea: a sweet card paired with two homemade chocolate chip cookies. My kids’ school has a back-to-school night that allows parents and students to meet their teachers a few days before school starts. This eliminates the hassle and bustle on Day 1, with your little one bringing all their supplies in tow. Here’s where we brought our little surprise packages for their teachers.

The result? My kids were remembered even before they started class! It was heartwarming to see how such a simple gift could bring so much joy to their teachers, who were stressed with all the preparations. It truly is the thought that counts.
